Geniza Services

A geniza (also spelled genizah) is a place set aside for the respectful storage and eventual burial of sacred Jewish items that are worn, damaged, or no longer usable ā€” such as siddurim, chumashim, tefillin, mezuzah scrolls, and other items containing Gā€‘d's name. Jewish tradition teaches that these holy objects may not simply be thrown in the trash; instead they are set aside in a geniza and later buried with dignity.

As a service to our community, we accept sacred items for proper geniza burial.

  • Cost: $36 per box
  • Box size: one small Home Depot box or equivalent (approx. 16" L x 12" W x 12" H)
