The Bar/Bat Mitzvah marks an important step in the spiritual growth of a Jewish child. Rather than the culmination of Jewish learning, the Bar/Bat Mitzvah is an important step along the way that challenges the maturing child to engage more meaningfully in Jewish life.
Continuing one’s Jewish education is the real meaning of “Bar” or “Bat” Mitzvah – son or daughter of the Mitzvah. By learning about the deeper meaning of Jewish living we hope that our children will continue to live their lives Jewishly and fulfill the meaning of Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
At Chabad of Altamonte Springs, the Bar/Bat Mitzvah is celebrated by participating in a Friday evening Shabbat service or reading from the Torah at a Saturday Shabbat service.
The Bar Mitzvah training is lead by Rabbi Mendy Bronstein, and the Bat Mitzvah training is lead by Mrs. Mussie Bronstein and can be arranged for any Jewish child regardless of background or affiliation.
